AI shouldn't replace the thinking. It should accelerate it.

Talks, workshops and programmes built around The Middle Principle — a practical framework for keeping human direction, judgement and responsibility at the centre of AI use.

The core idea

You start. AI accelerates. You finish.

Humans should start and finish the work. AI belongs in the middle. Direction → AI → Judgement. Every session is an application of that principle — not a tools demo, not a prompt list, and not AI hype.

  1. 1 Direction

You set the purpose, boundaries and standards.

  2. 2 Acceleration

AI helps in the middle — faster exploration, drafting and options.

  3. 3 Judgement

You decide what holds, what fails, and what ships with your name on it.

Choose your audience

Session finder

Find the right intervention

Answer a few practical questions. You’ll get a clear format recommendation — then you can discuss it with the brief already attached.

Who is the session for?

Formats

Ways to bring the principle in

Not a fixed product menu — a set of interventions. The finder helps match the problem to the format.

The Middle Principle Talk

About 30–60 minutes

A high-energy introduction to the principle, designed to shift how people think about AI — not how many tools they can name.

Best for: Conferences, INSET openings, all-staff briefings, town halls

The Middle Principle Workshop

About 90 minutes to half or full day

Practical and interactive. Participants apply Direction → AI → Judgement to their own work.

Best for: Teachers, teams, departments and practitioners who need to apply the framework

Leadership Briefing

About 45–90 minutes

Focused on adoption, policy, implementation and where responsibility sits when AI enters the workflow.

Best for: SLT, university leadership, department heads and business leaders

Student Talk / Workshop

Flexible — assembly through to workshop length

How to use AI without letting it do the thinking — with a clear handoff to the Student Guide as leave-behind.

Best for: Assemblies, university sessions, freshers, study skills and employability events

Programme / Series

Multiple sessions over time

A sequence of sessions that build habits, shared language and ownership — not a one-off spark that fades.

Best for: Organisations moving beyond awareness into embedded practice

Positioning

Why this is different

The tools will change. Direction, judgement, responsibility and ownership shouldn’t.

Principle-first

Sessions apply The Middle Principle. Tools appear only where they help illustrate the idea.

Not a prompt list

No “50 prompts you need”, ChatGPT demos-as-the-product, or AI hype tours.

Tool-independent

People leave with a way of working that survives the next model release.

Ownership stays human

The goal is sharper thinking and clearer responsibility — not faster outsourcing.

Speaking vs continuing without me

Speaking & workshops

Bring the idea into your organisation. I deliver the session, facilitate the work, and leave people with a shared language.

Training & licensing

Give your organisation the resources and framework to keep using and delivering the idea yourselves. Related — but not the same product.

Student Talk + Student Guide

For schools, colleges and universities: a student-facing session that doesn’t disappear when the room empties. Pair the talk or workshop with the Middle Principle Student Edition — I’m Off to Uni — as a digital or physical leave-behind.

Practical questions

Do you demonstrate specific AI tools?

Tools can appear where they help, but sessions are not product demos. The principle is deliberately tool-independent.

In-person or online?

Either. Use the session finder to say what you need; we’ll confirm what works for your audience and format.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can — especially for INSET, freshers and conference slots. If you’re unsure of dates, say so in the enquiry.

Do you publish prices here?

Not yet. The page helps you identify the right intervention; we’ll discuss scope, length and fee once we understand the brief.

Is this the same as licensing the model?

No. Speaking brings me in to deliver the idea. Licensing and training resources help your organisation continue without me. We can talk about both, but they stay distinct.
